I am currently reading Not Becoming My Mother by Ruth Reichl, oddly enough it was a gift from my mother-in-law.  It has me thinking quite a bit about the role of mothers and especially how mothers form their daughters in to mothers, intentionally or not.  And most of all it has me thinking about motherless mothering – becoming a mother for the first time after my own mother has passed away.  I am not normally a what-if kind of gal, don’t see the point, but I can’t shake the speculation this time.
