Milestone Madness

I read somewhere, most likely twitter, my parenting encyclopedia, that sleep gets disrupted around developmental milestones. That may explain the sleeping through the night issues we’ve been having lately. Spencer took his first steps yesterday. Woo! It certainly wasn’t independent, spontaneous walking. Hubs and I were sitting on the floor and coaching him to walk between us, but he did do it. He took about four steps at a time, three times or so. I messaged my sister and of course her response was video?, but we didn’t manage to capture it. By the time I went and got the camera, Spencer’s interest in walking was done.

He also has become a fabulous stander; he can’t just stand up in the middle of the room yet, but he pulls up and lets go and stands for quite awhile. He also says “Bye Bye” clearly and in context, so I am going to go a ahead and call it as his first word(s). He says it to his cheerios as he throws them on the floor and to his toys as he puts them in their bin and most of all to people. He doesn’t always get it right, but it is adorable.

Congrats Spencer!!! Walking is so much fun to watch how these new humans put every skill together with so much determination.
