A day for remembrance and giving

Today is the anniversary of a truly sad day in American history. September 11th should be a day of service or charitable giving. Here are some places that are currently accepting donations:

  • Emmie Bee is taking donations to help victims of the San Bruno fire.
  • Dewey Donation System is going on right now and is helping Village Learning place. I love this one, it is an annual event. You get to shop the recipient’s Amazon wish list and send books. Awesome. I give every year.
  • Donors Choose is another personal favorite. It is so much fun look through the projects and pick a classroom to support. In fact, I have a $25  gift code up for grabs for the first person who expresses interest in the comments.
  • Veterans of Foreign Wars is also always taking donations.

Disclosure: None of these organizations asked to be listed here, I just support them. I was given no compensation. The Donors Choose gift card was given to me by Donors Choose, but not in regards to the giveaway; they mail them out periodically to people who have donated before.
