Holy Crap! Holiday Cards are Here Again!

I can not believe it is already time to start thinking about holiday cards. I still haven’t sent out the thank you notes from Spencer’s birthday last July. Shhhh. I am awful, I know. And to think that I used to be a thank you note superstar, always sending them out with in a week. I even managed to get my wedding thank you notes out with my dad still in the hospital. Now, I am a slacker. But I am going to kick ass at holiday cards this year.

Last year I got holiday cards and photo albums from Shutterfly and planned to do so again this year, even before this sponsored post opportunity came along. I found it really easy to use their website for designing cards and albums, shipping was speedy and the quality was great. As an added bonus, at least last year, there are tons of coupon codes and bargains to be found, they could be combined and I ended up saving about 75%. Score!

I’m excited to order my cards for this year, but choosing is so hard, both the picture and the card design. I’m kidding myself if I think I could actually send out Thanksgiving cards, in addition to my usual holiday cards, but the options are super cute. My sister sometimes sends out New Year’s cards, often because she is traveling over the holidays and doesn’t have time to get cards out before she leaves, but it is also a great way to keep your cards from getting lost in the holiday card shuffle. I think I will be choosing from the adorable holiday photo cards.

Our 2009 Holiday Card

Last year we did a three photo card, with our names in white below the Happy Holidays. It looks blurrier that it really was but that is probably just because this is a screen grab. I looked around the site a bit trying to find my cards for this year. There is a huge variety, but I seem to be drawn to the black, green and red cards this year. Maybe a reaction to having the blue last year.

I’m thinking just a one photo card this year, maybe this one:

Or if we do a multiple photo card, I love this one:

And if you are doing a Christmas specific card, this one is great. I almost love it enough to get Christmas specific cards (the text can’t be changed), even though we never do:

All three options are the flat cards, which I like to get because then I don’t have to write a message if I don’t want to. Have you thought about your holiday cards yet? I’d love to hear your plans in the comments.

I love that multi-photo one! Mommy is having the hardest time finding cute Hanukkah cards this year… Shutterfly had a better selection than other companies, though.

I love all of those! I ALWAYS have the hardest time picking out cards because they are all so cute.
I considered going through ETSY, too. Decisions, decisions!

Oh, I love the one you chose from last year. I’ve given up hopes of getting out an actual Christmas card before Christmas this year but am REALLY looking forward to sending out Christmas themed birth announcements a few weeks after.
