Not Made in China Wrap-Up

I spent the month of September trying not to buy anything made in china and for the most part I succeeded. The only thing I bought were the accidental pears. But, to be honest, there were a couple things I just avoided buying. It seems the vast majority of shoes and sweaters, at least in my limited budget, are made in china.  An H&M recently opened in the mall by my house which is nice because they have a ton of clothes that aren’t made in china, at Target and Old Navy, non-chinese made clothes are the exception.

As a result of this month long adventure, I have decided on a path of made in china avoidance. If I really want or need something and it is only available chinese made, then I will go ahead with the purchase. The first case of this happened over the weekend when Spencer dunked my laptop power cord in to a glass of water. The replacement? Made in china, but it is pretty much an unavoidable purchase. I would love to say I wont by anything made in china again, but I love cardigan sweaters too much and eventually Spencer will need new shoes for his giant size 5 feet.
