Enter Personality

So, Spencer is a toddler. He had the physical aspects for awhile now, but recently he has developed the personality too. I love that he has such a personality; that certain little jokes make him smile. But. But, now he is stubborn. And strong willed. And throwing food. And disobeying. And adorable. And talks. And gives smooches and hugs. And hits. Oy.

We are seeing a lot more of this face.

This is not lounging. THIS is dramatic falling.

So, I have some learning to do and some patience to find. I love that he is a smart, funny little character, but I don’t think anything actually prepares you for the onset of toddlerness. I get that he is pushing limits and learning boundaries. I love to explore the world with him. I just didn’t expect it to be so loud.

OMG, O just started with the dramatic falling. His tends to be of the “sit down angrily and throw head backwards until it hits the floor” variety. I gotta hand it to him though, he knows it’s going to hurt, and he does it anyway. That’s dedication.

How long does this stage last? A few months? Or until they move out?

My completely uneducated guess is that it stops around four.

  2. That first pic you have? Is rapidly becoming a common sight in our house. I fear we are hitting the tantrum stage now. Without the hugs and kisses and adorableness to counter it. Well there is SOME adorableness, but I’m sure you know what I mean.

Also? I am loving that he is wearing frog(?) galoshes with his PJs. He’s rocking the look.

Frog boots indeed. With monkey jammies. He is quite the style icon. Also, we had that stage where the meltdowns almost outnumbered the cuteness. You are getting very close to the toddler adorableness explosion.

Dramatic falling *is* best done in green rainboots.
    It’s a fact.

Green rainboots plus striped footie pajamas add to the melodrama indeed.

We are here, too! I love JD’s little personality, but I guess I have to take the bad with the good. I’m just nervous because he’s only 18 mo., and a friend said 3 was even worse than 2 for her!
PS- Where do you find the frog boots? Love them!

I have also heard that 3 can be worse than 2. Hold me, I’m scared. And the boots are from Target. They still have them, but I bet they will be on clearance soon.
