Joplin Needs Our Help

I don’t normally post current event-like stuff here, but I am so upset by the tornado destruction in Joplin, MO that happened today. We have friends in Springfield and drove through Joplin earlier this year. I also used to work in a hospital and, while I can’t comprehend what the hospital staff must be going through, I spent enough time on the disaster planning committees and doing drills that I know the staff response must be huge.

Reports estimate that 75% of the town is gone.

The links are still being updated and I will add more as I find them, but please consider donating to the Red Cross in support of the town of Joplin.

So, so sad! Those storms finally finished passing over us here in Plato. I can’t even imagine what the folks in Joplin are going through. It’s been a heck of a year for tornados and it’s only May!

So very sad. Scary to think about what lies ahead of these people. I am one of those people that stocks up on weird toiletry type things and people make fun of me for it but then when something like this happens and I have baskets of things to send the generally do a great big facepalm.

Good for you using your “power” for good and getting the word out about donating! God bless that poor town.
