Everday Beauty with e.l.f. cosmetics

When I received the opportunity to shop for e.l.f cosmetics and describe my everyday beauty routine I jumped at the chance. That is like all of my favorite things: Shopping! Make Up! Blogging! ALL IN ONE. Awesome. And because I was chosen for the online shop, I didn’t even have to leave the couch. Spencer even helped.

Pick the orange polish! MY FAVORITE COLOR ORANGE!

Hmm. That was fun. Back to Special Agent Oso.

My every day beauty routine is pretty basic. In fact, it is so minimalist most days that I have it broken down in to basic and fancy basic. Note: fancy basic isn’t very fancy. On days where I am not leaving the house or just going to the park, I am pretty wash and go. Wash face, moisturizer with spf and sunglasses. On days where I have to interact with people without sunglasses on, I add under-eye concealer, face powder, light eye make up and lip color.

I have purchased e.l.f. cosmetics for a long time, so I’m pleased to also share that with you today. Honestly, I could have done this post without buying anything more, but Spencer wanted to help and I am not one to say no to more make-up. I hadn’t shopped for e.l.f. cosmetics online before and I was super pleased.

The selection online is HUGE. So much bigger than in stores. Did you know they had make-up kits?

Look at all the pretty colors!

I don’t normally use that many colors in my everyday routine. In fact, I thought I would “model” my fancy basic make-up routine and share my only tip.

I am unable to properly use liquid liner and I don’t really love eye pencils because I always lose the caps and then they get all gunky. So instead of using actual eyeliner, I dip a damp concealer brush into eyeshadow and press it along my lash line, just barely pressing/dragging it to make a line. I love how elf everyday cosmetics makes my routine so simple.

For lip color, I used a bit of the matte lip color (in coral, but it was more of a nude/peach than a coral), but I think it was a bit too matte for me so I added a little shine with pink gloss. I love the way the combination turned out.

The one thing I’m trying to improve in my routine is adding a little nail color. I like to keep my finger nails short and free of polish, but I think painting my toes funky colors is pretty fun. There are so many great colors to choose from, it was hard to choose just one.

Can you guess which one I chose?

Oooooo FUN. Make-up palettes used to be my weakness – I owned so, so many and barely used them. But it’s time I start buying something besides generic chapstick – I’m too old with too many sunspots to get away with wash-and-wear face anymore. You’re made-up look is SOOOOOO pretty!

Were the color pretty true to what was on the site? I’m always cautious about ordering makeup online because I’m afraid the colors will not be accurate.

I am also terrible at applying eyeliner & do the same trick with my eye shadows, the look comes out better & the color possibilities are endless. I love E.L.F for a lot of makeup staples & their products are great for gift giving too!

  4. I LOVE Elf products! Especially their eyeshadows

  5. I love e.l.f. cosmetics, they are so inexpensive that I can always afford to buy a ton and experiment!

Now I am trying to picture you in orange eye shadow. :)

  7. I’ve heard a lot about e.l.f but have never used it! I like how you can see the color choices online though, maybe I’ll check it out!

  8. Your son is too cute! I’m definitely going to have to try the nail polish…I LOVE e.l.f. cosmetics.
