DIY Chrome Twig Balls

I was so excited about the DIY chrome pinecones that I forgot to include photos of the other project I did at the same time, twig balls! Well, twig ball, really because I only have one, but I love it so.

The instructions are exactly the same as the pinecones:

  1. Buy chrome spray paint (Valspar/$5) & a twig ball (craft store clearance/$2)
  2. Set up newspapers/well ventilated area
  3. Spray with 2 or 3 light coats using a short spray rather than a sweeping motion
  4. Poke it a bit with your finger to flip it over to get the whole thing with one coat, when the spray is light enough you don’t need to wait
  5. Let dry overnight

I hung mine on the tree by slipping a strand of colored beads under a broken twig and tucking the broken bit back under. The chrome twig ball is so light the detached twig stays under. It could also be glued.

How long did it take you to ball up those twigs? ;)

Hi! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could get a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having difficulty finding one? Thanks a lot!
