WASTE LESS in 2013

I’m going to have a theme year for 2013. I’m going to waste less. Now, this isn’t some eco crusade, I mean it much more generalized.

Waste less:

time doing things for the second time because I didn’t do it right the first

energy getting worked up about things of little consequence

food by buying the right amounts and using it before it goes bad

hard drive space keeping shitty photos

money buying things again because I lost them the first time

Those are just examples. It’s more of a theme or a feeling or a lifestyle change than a “resolution.”

I waste a lot of things. I want to do that less.

Bonus Spencer! I also wasted a lot of wrapping paper this year. Relevance!

  1. The food thing took us a while but once we got into a rhythm, we pretty much stopped our food wastage entirely! Good luck!

That sounds like a fantastic plan – something I should think to adopt :). I especially like your plan to waste less hard drive space with photos. This is definitively something I have to learn as I cannot let go of my photos…Have a great 2013 ~ Bea

  3. Ooo, I like this resolution. I think I might have to try the same. I’d also add wasting time doing things that serve no purpose and don’t help me achieve my goals.

I think wasting time might be my biggest waste of all. It’s the hardest to stick to, too.

This is what I do. I chose one word, one idea, for the year. Last year it was “kindness.” This year it’s “see.” I want to slow down and see all the things I miss when I’m rushing through life. I want to be more present in my own life. I hope you love having a single idea for the year. It really worked for me.

Happy Sharefest. Have a great weekend.

I’m super excited to try it out for the year. I love the idea of “see”, it encompasses so much.
