Life and Junk {and hair}

I feel like I am neglecting the life update portion of my blog, but I feel since my actual readership is pretty small (and loyal and awesome!)  and I am facebook friends or active twitter chatters with most of the regulars, there isn’t really much of a need to post things that happen to me in this space. Most people know by know that I have new hair, it doesn’t warrant a whole post, but still in case you missed it:

BANGS.

I am having a midlife crisis and taking it out on my hair. I told her my ideal bangs were more 70s than hipster and I think she got it right, but my styling skills mediocre and I just end up with mom bangs. I was looking at some older pictures today and I think I like my hair a bit shorter so I am not sure if I am going to go back for a long bob or get the ends dip dyed.

Spencer only has two more weeks of school which seems insane, but has a two week break and then is going to 2 day a week camp. It isn’t really camp. It’s school, but one hour longer and they bring a lunch. I  am little worried because I switched Spencer to MWF school from TTh for next year and all of his friends stayed TTh. That is going to be a big change, at least his favorites are going to camp, so he has the summer.

In other Spencer news, somehow he became a Henry Hugglemonster addict. There will be a threat level orange meltdown if it is removed from the free-on-demand. All of his allowed TV times is spent with Henry and his monster friends. Spencer thinks they are RAWRsome.

He still isn’t potty-trained. I am pretty much a failure and don’t want to discuss it. Moving on.

And speaking of failure, I have know idea what is going on with Spencer’s bedtime. He is SO HARD to get in to bed and to sleep right now. He stalls, he beds, he spills milk. Is this just a thing? When it stays light super-late kids turn evil? June is going to be fun.

    I didn’t know about your bangs – cute! I feel your bedtime pain; Cole will NOT go to sleep. He dropped naps over a year and a half ago, and we so a consistent bedtime routine, so I don’t know what I’m supposed to do – you can’t force someone to sleep! He is in his bed (for the first time anyway) by 8:30, and yet he doesn’t go to sleep until nearly 11!

    I’m with ya on the midlife crisis and my hair is on the receiving end of it all. The sad thing is that I don’t do anything drastic and still end up thinking that it looks like crap!

    I am a fan of drastic hair changes because hair grows up and can be hidden or fixed for the most part. Even my unfortunate green hair (I was going green on purpose but the results were… moldy) could be camouflaged. So I say do something fun with your hair – it’s summer!

    Aww, I cut bangs too! I cut them way too short a month or two ago, and now they’re too long but I was tired of having bangs and now I can sweep them out of the way and pin them up.

    Niko’s being a big jerk about 1) going to sleep and 2) staying asleep. Kids are boundary pushers, that’s how they are.

    Luckily, Spencer stays asleep (for the most part, cue cosmic revenge for saying such a thing on the internet), but his wake-up time is either 6 am or 8 am. This is theoretically fine, but I never know when to go to bed.

  4. Connor will be 4 next month and potty training is still a struggle. It seems like it is 1 step forward, 2 steps back…
