Some Joyful Christmas Favorites

I was going to try and get my act in gear for a holiday decorations home tour, but it just isn’t happening. Instead, I thought I could share a few of my favorites.

My mom made this and it is one of my very favorite things. It’s very late 70s with the fabrics and the stuffing. In fact, I did a google image search to double check my hunch and these are the top results.

Pretty sure all three are right there. This hung over the fireplace, under the mantle in my childhood home and it is in every single photo of my sister and I opening stockings ever. I don’t remember a christmas without it.¬†

I figured this macrame wonder needed it’s close up. What do we have here? Macram√© + jingle bells + painted baby blocks = JOY, that’s for sure.

A bit of modern sparkle.

Hope everyone has a joyful week and Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate!

My older sister went through a cloth decorations phase in the 70’s so that sounds right. Thanks for sharing your memories.

I love these kind of family decor traditions. Ours is being crazy Hallmark Keepsake hoarders but I kinda want to find a pattern to make my own JOY and I definitely want all of those fabrics.

That’s so cool that you still have it after all these years! And you can pass it down later on too. It’ll be a wonderful heirloom!
