Nevada State Railroad Museum – Carson City

Last weekend, we were in Carson City and stopped at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. We had driven past it a few times and finally made time to stop for a visit. It’s a small museum, but well designed and well priced (only $6/adult, kids under 18 are free). There is a building that houses some engines (display only) and exhibits, as well as two short movies and a toy train playing area, which are such a handy refuge when doing a museum with small children). An outside area houses several trains, including some you can climb up on.

Penny machines are our favorite souvenirs – an activity and something to take home for only 51 cents!

Ooo nice! It’s good when they add play areas for the little ones in museums so that they have some space to unwind and be themselves too.

  2. Very nice. It is worth a trip up there.
