So, while my sister was here, she decided to teach Spencer how to make faces. I need to find the video we made because the still photographs don’t quite do this justice. It is truly ridiculously adorable and also a little bit ridiculous.
And lest you think this is a legitimate happy face, may I present:
Oh, yes, she added jazz hands to the tutorial.
There are more. All taken after uttering the phrase “Do Happy!”
Do you have a wordless wednesday post? I’d love to see!
While I love BlogHer Book Club and reading in general, The Kid almost made me throw in the towel and I almost never don’t finish a book. It is a hard, hard book to read.
The Kid is not an easy novel by any stretch of the imagination, certainly not a light summer read, nor was it intended to be. Written by Saphhire, (author of Push, on which the movie Precious was based), the title character is the son of Precious, but as I did not read the novel or see the movie, I’m not sure how related the two stories are. The Kid stands on its own.

I don’t even remember this week is was so crazy. Home from BlogHer, unpacking, cleaning, my sister came wednesday and then serious party prep mode. I think I went to 7 stores in 2 days, most of them twice. Lists, I lose them. party was fun, but I don’t think I took a single phone pic so those will have to wait for the party post….
What did you do this week? If you captured it on your phone, you should link up with Amy.
Saturday was party day, so we stepped in, but I forgot to change into a different top for the party, so I ended up wearing an ill-fitting and slightly dirty black t-shirt. On Thursday, we went out to one of our favorite places for fancy burgers and some cocktails. We may or may not have taught Spencer to say “mar-tee-knee.” I’ve never linked up before and my clothes are cheap and crappy, but Spencer and I matched, so post there will be. Viola!
